c.1939 Iron Fireman Robot Coal Stoker Ash Tray
The Iron Fireman combustion products company has manufactured industrial coal stokers and burners for over 100 years. Their logo has been this robot stoker hard at work with coal shovel in hand. Over the years they've produced several renditions of their famous logo in toys, banks, and (as you see below) ashtrays. This one has a double tray, painted silver, and has three cigarette rests. "Iron Fireman" was embossed both front and back. This is cast iron (not die cast) metal, double ashtray featuring the Iron Fireman robot in the center. It's marked A.C. Rehberger Co., Chicago. Rehberger also produced bronze busts and cast iron coin banks. Size: 6½" x 4½" base. 4½" tall. Sold: Mar. 2006
